The seafront retreat. This villa is a sea-front vacation home situated at the south coast of Paros, a region fringed with sandy beaches that stays blissfully quiet even in the midst of peak season. The minimal-chic Cycladic aesthete and the austere geometry of modern architecture dictated a clean-lined retreat that celebrates materials in their natural form. Stone-built walls are partly left uncovered to reflect the landscape' s raw beauty and blend the house into its setting. The main terrace features a decked swimming pool and a comfortable pergola-shaded lounge/ dining area that overlook the Aegean. The interior is spacious, bright and stripped of unnecessary details. The walls are fitted with large windows that invite both the sunlight and the views inside. Instead of confining the spaces with doors, tall archways are used to connect the main living room with the dining room and the kitchen. The materials are natural and the palette monochromatic – the walls are white, and so is the upholstery. The rooms are outfitted with designer furniture and decorated with a few hand-picked artworks. The bedrooms are minimal, spacious and completely open to the landscape. To maximise privacy, the property consists of a main house and two independent guest houses.
